This node is owned by the Westmoreland Emergency Amateur Radio Service and maintained by RjDipcord. WEARS3 is located atop the Westmoreland County Hospital on a structure maintained by WEARS as a cross-band repeater. The cross-band repeater ensures the hospital has a reliable connection to the W3LWW repeater as well as distribute that connection to those located in the valleys of Greensburg.
WEARS3 is in Router_Late mode because while it is in a very prominent location, much of Greensburg can already witness WEARS1. These two infrastructure nodes would probably be more problematic if not setup as such. Two routers in close proximity is generally a bad idea. Additionally, WEARS3 does not have a direct connection to Apollo while WEARS1 does. Therefore we want to ensure packets make it out of WEARS1 first.
